Bringing the Heat to Chicago
Being a member of AAF of the Midlands allows us to meet several amazing people in the advertising industry in Columbia SC. Yesterday’s luncheon was no exception.
Accompanied with my friend Brooke from PrintHouse(45) we were honored to get an insider’s look at the Chicago based campaign “Time to Thaw” developed by The Bounce Agency in Greenville, SC. This campaign was for the SC department of parks, recreation, and tourism.
The concept was simple: Target the freezing citizens of Chicago (in what happened to be their coldest winter on record) and let them know the heat is in the south. Through a beyond creative use of guerilla advertising, The Bounce Agency raised the bar in what proved to be a very successful campaign for SC tourism. As a designer, this only makes me want to push the limits more. Granted not all clients have half a million dollars to spend on a marketing campaign, but it’s always nice to have goals.
